Tranquil Tulips Hostess Stamps

I really love this stamp set.  My mother is a big fan of tulips.  When my parents were traveling in the Netherlands, she bought directly from the supplier and had them shipped.  Enough to plant the entire front yard - and they live out in the country!

So even if my flower love leans to daffodils, I am completely in love with this stamp set!

This stamp set is another Two-Step stamping set.  I have been stamping off the solid background images to give dimension on a flat stamping surface.  Because these are photopolymer stamps, lining up the top image is a breeze!

Anniversary Cards and More!

We've got 2 anniversaries coming up within the month.  I saw this design, and fell in LOVE!  It uses just a bit of DSP from the Daisies.  So pretty!
Change out the sentiment, and you have a birthday card, a sympathy card, a thinking of you card.  So many possibilities!  I like possibilities.
This card has an additional embellishment.  The ruffled background.  It's a subtle change, but makes all the difference!
I've started a new mantra, "Emboss the backgrounds!"  Emboss the backgrounds, emboss the backgrounds, Emboss the backgrounds!

Mystery Challenge #6 and Embossing Tips

SO you're going to do some heat embossing.  You need a bunch of balloons, and the balloon punch can be tricky if you don't line them up properly.  Here's an idea to be efficient.  I punched the balloons out of a piece of scrap.  Place the stamps in the spaces left by the punch.  Use the D block to mount your stamps, and you can stamp away quite quickly!

After stamping as you can see below on some Whisper White cardstock, use the template above again for the other pieces to add the embossing. This is known as Two-Step stamping.  Ink up the 2nd step with Versamark ink, and after stamping, spread with copper embossing powder.
I'm showing the paper clipped to a piece of cardboard.  This is a great technique for saving your fingers from the heat gun!  It gets really hot!
Below you can see the completed embossing.
The balloons look like a terrible mess in these two pictures, but once you line them up in the balloon punch, they punch out very quickly!  You then have 8 balloons to use for a very cute card!

Here you can see my card for the Mystery Challenge.  Love the shine from the copper embossing powder on the purple balloons!

Here you can see the inside view of the card. I like the strings that have 'let's celebrate' written on them.  SO cute!
I haven't done the choosing for the next Mystery Challenge yet since I'll be doing a Christmas in July project.
I will either continue it through July, or start up again with the Mystery Challenges in August.
Stay tuned!

Dual Purpose Card: Celebrate Citizenship and 4th of July

I made this card for a family relative that recently got her citizenship!  We were so happy for her!  My husband and I went through the same process, and can appreciate the journey!

This card actually came together very quickly.  Die cuts, a bit of stamping, some adhesive and voilá!  You have a very cute flag card.
You can't see it in the picture, but I used Wink of Stella to give the stars some sparkle.

Take off the sentiment and you have a fantastic 4th of July card!
