Two Classroom Helpers

Before school started, two of my former students came by and helped me get the classroom library and the games all set up for this school year.

It's quite a big job, so I gave them a choice of what they'd like for lunch... and sent these cards along with their mothers who work at the school with me.

It was a big job, and the girls rocked it out in record time with everything organized beautifully!

Last Christmas in July - Carols of Christmas

I first made this very simple card first while I was just playing around with the stamp set and die cuts.  It's plain.  Pretty, but very simple and very much NOT my style.
Now... I added details.  I embossed the background with the Holly folder - but I could have just as well used the Softly Falling folder to make it look like there was snow.  I cut the sentiment with the Stitched Shapes square die, and used white embossing powder on the trees with a touch of Wink of Stella.

Here's a bonus card for today!  I hadn't used the poinsettia cut outs, and wanted to play with them as well.
I hope you've enjoyed this year's Christmas in July offerings!  I'll post more Christmas Cards as December draws near and the new items from the catalog debuting on September 1st.

Christmas in July - Woodlands Wreath

I saw a version of this card online, and really liked it!  I messed around with the elements a bit, and came up with this!
As you're aware, I rarely make only one card at a time.. with this card as an exception.

I'm going to make more of these but wanted to try one first to see if it turned out as well on paper as it did in my head.  I made quite a few changes from the original I saw, and will make some other changes to the subsequent duplicates.
I think this will be one of my Stamp-A-Stack Christmas cards for my club.  SO pretty!  I love the copper foil on top of the darker espresso acorn.

I really like the Pretty Pines die cuts - they're so very pretty!  I just don't use them much.  I wonder if it's because I don't want to hassle with pulling them apart or what.... but I realize that's my own issue and they really weren't a problem when I made them!  Stay tuned... I've got more cards coming with the Pretty Pines dies on the way!

Mystery Card Challenge #1

Last Sunday I introduced this idea CASEd from another demonstrator, Faith Steinberg.  The first challenge was to use the Sunshine Sayings stamp set and the Pool Party cardstock.

This is the card I designed.  I used a little Bermuda Bay to ink the edges of the pieces, and the new Pretty Label Punch.

Sunshine sayings has a set of dies that go with it, so I used two, and a bit of Pool Party satin ribbon.

SO, with the first challenge finished, here is Challenge #2.
The stamp set Sprinkles of Life has a punch that coordinates.  Check back to see my creation with this stamp set, punch, and cardstock color!

LOVE that Happy Birthday!

When I saw this Happy Birthday cut in the new catalog that goes LIVE June 1st, I was so happy!  The Stylized Birthday stamp is great, but a die cut like this allows lots of different techniques!  I'll showcase a few.  Stay tuned!
Here is a card using another stamp set I featured in a class earlier this past year.  I ended up making 4 of these, and I was quite happy with the results!

When you use the Emerald Envy for the greenery, stamp off once to give the leaves a lighter tone to enhance the flowers.

It might be difficult to see - I used the Berry Burst card stock as a mat on the Elegant Eggplant background.
The White Chalk marker is listed because I added white dots on the Happy Birthday after I took the picture.
