Christmas in July - July 1, 2018

Here we go again!  It's Christmas in July.
I had a moment when I thought I might skip doing this for 2018 - but changed my mind.  Now I have more cards I want to make than days in July!

I'm starting out with some retired items.  Maybe you have these stamps - and if you don't you can certainly substitute and get the same look.

The DSP for this card is called Presents and Pinecones.

If you look closely, I used the Ribbon Border punch.  I came late to the party with this punch and have made up for it by using it all over!  It's great for adding a little border to the edge of a piece.

As always, my very favorite Merry Christmas stamp.
It has also been long-retired but I love it so much I will continue using it.

I made 6 of these cards.  Why 6 you ask?  For a few reasons.  When I cut 3 pieces of cardstock bases, I get 6 card bases and it's quick and easy to continue stamping once you've started!  Plus, I give out many Christmas cards every year so I need to add to my stash.

Stop by every day to check out the Christmas cards!

Last Christmas in July - Carols of Christmas

I first made this very simple card first while I was just playing around with the stamp set and die cuts.  It's plain.  Pretty, but very simple and very much NOT my style.
Now... I added details.  I embossed the background with the Holly folder - but I could have just as well used the Softly Falling folder to make it look like there was snow.  I cut the sentiment with the Stitched Shapes square die, and used white embossing powder on the trees with a touch of Wink of Stella.

Here's a bonus card for today!  I hadn't used the poinsettia cut outs, and wanted to play with them as well.
I hope you've enjoyed this year's Christmas in July offerings!  I'll post more Christmas Cards as December draws near and the new items from the catalog debuting on September 1st.

Christmas in July - Peace on Earth Simple Design

Today's card is a simple design.  I usually go for detailed, quite busy designed cards and decided to make this very straightforward.
The top and bottom accents in Garden Green ink are one of two options in this stamp set.

I'm going to work with this design again - emboss the background - give the greeting a mat - give the trees more detail.
Stay tuned!

Christmas in July - Event!

"This looks familiar," you say?  Why, yes, it does!  It's an update to current paper and supplies from the card I made earlier this month.  You can get the 'stuff' to duplicate this card!
Contact me to find out how to make this card.  It's a cute card, and so very easy when you know the technique! The post from July 10th - I rocked out a dozen of these in a very short period of time.

Christmas in July - Deck the Halls with Swag

I mentioned a few days ago about how Christmas songs get stuck playing in my head... well this one Deck the Halls made me think of a story I enjoy reading about how the hallways were decorated with swags of evergreen boughs.  My mom puts up a swag to the living room that frames the tree every year.  It's beautiful.

After I made the first card similar to this, I had an idea.
Here's a close-up where I'm trying to show all the dimension on this card with the ornaments popped up and the swag and acorn only attached at the top.
Here you can see the ornaments a little more clearly.
 SO pretty!
I love this frame die!  It gives the card some extra detail and shows the card base though.  So elegant.

August 1st is the date!  Keep it in mind.  You can order this set starting August 1st, 2017.  Stop back and click the link below.
