Cupcakes are Still the Rage!

Look closely at the two pictures of this card.  Paper cupcakes with 3 dimensional icing! 

I also revived a stamp technique from a few years ago when doing multiple stamping on one image.  The tip:  Use the darkest color first, then stamp to the 'top' with the lightest color.  Works like a charm for lining up images!



 This was my first try at this technique.  I'm going to revisit it when things calm down, and see what else I can come up with for 3D frosting on the cupcakes.  I added some Wink of Stella to give the frosting some sparkle, just like the edible glitter you can put on cupcakes.

Happy Birthday Watercolor

This is a stamp set that returned from last year's catalog, and I'm so glad it did! I didn't use it much before, but when I made this card, I made 2 more right after for a friend and family member.

Concentrating on the new In-Colors for 2016-2018 has been so much fun!  They're pretty together and give so many opportunities for combinations!


The flowers and leaves are stamped off 1 time, and "Happy Birthday" is not stamped off.

Happy Birthday Spring Wreath

I'm on my new In-Colors kick - playing with them, working out how to incorporate them with our regular color line.

I don't use this stamp set often, but I do think it's so pretty!  I also use a tip I saw on either a blog post, or video.  When you die-cut the wreath, cut the center piece first, then line up the die cut around the outside to finish cutting the wreath.  SO much easier!


The bow is also a die-cut, but the little flowers are fussy cut. 
HOW did I get the Happy Birthday lined up in the center so nicely?  EASY!  Before adding the dimensionals, lay the wreath down on the card where you want it placed.  Ink up your photo-polymer stamp, and stamp!  I did some practice stamping on my grid paper to be sure the image was inked properly.

Remove the wreath, add the dimensionals, and attach it to the card!

Tip:  Cut the dimensionals into smaller pieces while still on the backing paper.

Marquee!


 I got very excited when I saw this stamp set in the new catalog!  It has lots of possibilities, and like the card says, it's AWESOME!

Before I saw the picture in the catalog, I could see each piece of this stamp done in different colors.  It took a bit of time, and 3 pieces of cardstock to get the center piece.  The fussy cutting on this wasn't difficult at all.

 I used 3 colors you wouldn't normally see together:  Wisteria Wonder, Mint Macaron, and Blushing Bride.  I took a chance, and am very happy with how the color combinations worked.
