Welcoming Window Card Options

This card was a Show-and-Tell during my club a few weeks ago.  I wanted to show the Welcoming Window Bundle without the windows.  There are so many beautiful images in this set, I felt they needed to be featured.

This was the card I presented for our club project.  The ladies made many changes as I gave them options for making their own cards.  I'm sorry I didn't take pictures of how theirs turned out - they were GREAT!
I really love the options with this stamp and die set.  We came up with 4 completely different cards all using the same materials.

A Special Technique

The first card was featured at one of my club events.  I wanted the background to stand out, so we die cut a two-step stamped flower and placed it so you could see the background.

THIS card.  When I saw this technique - WOW!    When I first saw this card it looked like the butterflies were inlaid on the background.  They're not.  Each butterfly is popped on top of the colored background with dimensionals.

This technique uses blender brushes!  I made a stencil from this single-die cut that cuts out all six of these butterflies, then layered Calypso Coral, So Saffron, and Daffodil Delight with a swirling motion so each butterfly had a bit of each color.

The greeting comes from the Many Messages stamp/die cuts.

New Catalog Event 2021-2022

Saturday, May 22nd we had our New Catalog event with our customer base.  Each demonstrator (there were 3) designed one card with a new stamp set, and tried to focus on the new In-Colors.

This was my contribution:

I used most of the Hand-Penned suite for this card and only In-colors except the Memento Black as the outline for the flowers.

How did you get that very pretty edge on the DSP?  That comes from the new Basic Borders dies.  There are 6 dies that give you some great edges to play with.  *I'm making a stencil from the clouds!

Because, as you know - I can't leave well-enough alone, I designed a simpler card to show a contrast and a different technique.

This card used the flower outline and is stamped in the Freesia ink as a background.  I stamped the flowers in different color combinations, and used the Freesia ribbon here.  I also used a stamp set that lends itself to many options for greetings.

Meadow Flowers

The wildflowers are die cuts from a set called "Meadow".  I did not order the stamp set, just the dies.  We made this at our club 2 weeks ago.  I cut a bunch of the wildflower dies from white cardstock, and we used sponge daubers to color the flowers!

We embossed the background with the 3D painted texture folder, added a double-double bow from the Pierced Blooms die set, and the Thank You is from Flowers of Friendship stamp set.

I also added some of our new jeweled accents and Wink of Stella to let the colors stand out.

Technique:  Emboss, and use the blending brushes to swirl Pool Party ink as a background towards the top.

For the wildflowers, we used these colors:  3 greens for stems; Pear Pizzazz, Garden Green, and Mossy Meadow in smaller amounts respectively.

To color the flowers, we used the following:  Calypso Coral, Daffodil Delight, Poppy Parade, Highland Heather, and Gorgeous Grape

New In-Color "Nothing Card"

A "Nothing Card?"  What's that?  I call these Nothing Cards because it takes almost nothing to make them!

Pale Papaya is one of our new In-Colors and works absolutely beautifully with this DSP.  The back of the paper coordinates, so I just folded over a corner, added a tag, glue dot and bow...  Voila!  Pretty card.

See below for the very short supply list.

You may have seen my DSP series of making 72 cards from one 12x12 pack of paper.  This paper would be absolutely gorgeous as a set of 72 cards.

I want to thank fellow Demonstrator Robin Smith for the fabulous idea of double stamping the Biggest Wish stamp set!  It would have completely passed me by if she hadn't said something.  That's a very special Happy Birthday!
