Stack and Shuffle Technique Cards

I used this stamping technique some 4 or 5 years ago for one of our stamping events.  The beautiful paper we have this year brought it to mind.

I have a photograph where I did not use the mats (see below), and the video shows using the stamp technique with a mat.  You get to be the decider.

These are the first cards I made.   I forgot how pretty that Valentine paper was!

Stampin' Positioner Available March 3rd, 2026

The new Stampin' Positioner is the newest Stampin' Up! tool.  It makes lining up stamps for stamping techniques so easy!  You can do so many things with it, and I'll have a series of videos showing different techniques.

This is a short introduction so you can see some of the possibilities.

Happy Birthday!

Here's that new favorite Happy Birthday stamp showing up again. 

This first card, I used the die cuts that coordinate with the stamp set.  The balloons are stamped in varying shades of purples and greens. 
 On this birthday card, I used lots of different techniques.  The background is embossed with the Tufted folder, the Trio punch made the corners, and the Around the Corner stamp set makes those square corners much less plain! 
On the Happy Birthday and balloons, I used a rolling technique to get the color variations.  Stamp in the lighter color - Highland Heather here - then roll just the edges of the stamp in a darker, coordinating color.  I used Gorgeous Grape.  It gives you a different gradient of colors. 

Colors used on these cards:  Highland Heather, Gorgeous Grape, Shaded Spruce, Soft Seafoam, Granny Apple Green, Lovely Lipstick.

Cupcakes are Still the Rage!

Look closely at the two pictures of this card.  Paper cupcakes with 3 dimensional icing! 

I also revived a stamp technique from a few years ago when doing multiple stamping on one image.  The tip:  Use the darkest color first, then stamp to the 'top' with the lightest color.  Works like a charm for lining up images!



 This was my first try at this technique.  I'm going to revisit it when things calm down, and see what else I can come up with for 3D frosting on the cupcakes.  I added some Wink of Stella to give the frosting some sparkle, just like the edible glitter you can put on cupcakes.

Flower Jar Thank You

OMG!  I am in LOVE!
This is a CASE of a card from the front cover of the catalog.  This card is not difficult by any means, it just takes a bit of time to put all the pieces together.

This flower jar is one of the two Make-and-Takes for our Stampin' Up! New Catalog Event.  I actually stamped and cut out each of the flowers and greens so it won't take our guests so long.  
 Take a look at the water in the jar...  That was a very happy accident!  I wanted the edges to be a little darker, and the ink just happened to flow that way when I did the stamping.  Hopefully, it will work that way always.

I used the very smallest seed pearls as the flower centers.  They cried for something.
Everything on this card was cut with a die-cut except the Thanks, and I fussy cut that piece.

Stampin' Up! has some kits in which the flower pieces are already stamped and on heavy card as pieces to use in the kit.  I thought it would be GREAT to be able to get these heavier die-cut pieces to use on our cards that don't come in kits.
Stampin' Up! has a thick white cardstock that carried over from last year's catalog.  I took a chance with this set to try it out, and it worked GREAT!  I have thicker die-cut pieces to use on cards and projects, and made them myself!!  Now the sky's the limit, and I don't have to wait for some new product to come out in the catalog!  YAY!  I love it when I can DIY.
