Baptism Card

I needed a very special card for a Baptism.
White on white with a touch of silver.
I also used the velveteen paper we had for a very short time.

Christmas in July - July 20, 2018

Eighty-five!  The cards I'm featuring for today make a grand total of 85 cards so far for July. I again used one of the sheets of 12 x 12 from the new Under the Mistletoe DSP.

This should look like a wrapped present with a tag.  The red strips of embossed paper should be the ribbon around the package with a tag and bow.

 A 2 inch tag was WAY too big for this card, so after I punched the tag topper, I measured the Delicate Lace die to find the width and cut the tag down to that size. 

 The bow comes from a birthday stamp set, and the sentiment below comes from a stamp set called Ready for Christmas.
Where did that bow come from?  Picture Perfect Birthday!  It's a two-step stamp
It was actually my second option because I can't find my Bow Builder punch!  It's gone missing.  It will turn up, but now I had to find another option.

When using two sentiments at a time, line them up on the grid paper, and stamp away! I also used Around the Corner here for the corner pieces.  I really love that stamp set!

Christmas in July - July 17, 2018

Right before I made this set of 6 cards, I was feeling like I was getting into a rut.  I felt I'd already used all my current and some favorite retired stamp sets.  All my paper was retired, and though I love it, it's retired.

Finally my paper order arrived!  (It took a long time to ship!)  I found this piece of plaid in the new Under the Mistletoe DSP, and had my idea.

 Another demonstrator showed the two label punches together, and I knew this card was a great way to show them.  A touch of some enamel dots, and a bit of ribbon and an embossed piece of cardstock, and I was off to the races again.

 Usually when you cut 12 x 12 paper for cards, there are pieces left over.  They're 4 x 1 1/2 inches.  Instead of saving them (and not use them) or putting them back in the package with them getting in the way, I've started using them on the inside of the card.  I cut them to 4 by 3/4 inch, and place them along an edge.  No wasted paper, and it lends some continuity from the outside to the inside of the card.

NOTE:  The enamel dots are long retired.  They were a door prize and the Merry Christmas just needed a little something.

Christmas in July - July 12, 2018

I Photoshopped this card!  Even thought I stamped so very carefully, I still had two smudges.

 I didn't want to waste the card (It will be kept for samples), and I knew I could fix it on the computer.  I again used the Tufted embossing folder and instead of pearls, used rhinestones this time.

I made only one of these to add to my Christmas in July total.  There will be more.

Initially the label was stamped in Cherry Cobbler but I scrapped that one.  I used the markers in Shaded Spruce and Cherry Cobbler to color the stamp.  Trees have to be green!

Christmas in July - July 11, 2018

This card I'm presenting today has a lot of detail and is actually quite easy.  Die cuts, and embossing folder, and a little stamping.  That's it!


At the bottom, right above the Product List, look for "Print Recipe" for detailed directions on this simple card. 

I die cut two of the Shaded Spruce lace pieces, and the white label.  I also used Shaded Spruce to stamp the Noel from the Christmas Pines stamp set. 

 

Click on the picture for a closer view of the embossing on the strip of Whisper White.  It's from the Tufted embossing folder.  It's so pretty!  You're going to see it often.  I added some pearls where the lines crossed for an added touch.

I hope you like this card as much as I do.  It's highly detailed (just the way I like my cards), but so very easy.  

As I've been making multiples for Christmas in July, I made six of these cards.
