2018 Card Club - January

Today is our FIRST meeting of our Card Club for 2018.  We're adding two new members today!  It's very exciting!  The more the merrier!

This year, we meet the 2nd Saturday of each alternating month.  I've told the ladies we will make at LEAST 3 cards - one Happy Birthday card, one Thank You card, and one Christmas card.  As usual, I already have one bonus card planned.  These are usually very quick to make.

Here is our Happy Birthday card.  I'm teaching a technique using the Large Letter framelits.  The color choice is totally yours - pick a theme!  I used other colors and letters with this for Rozella's birthday card a few posts ago.
Here is our Christmas card for today.  This card also has lots of options!  It doesn't have to be a Christmas card.  Just switch out the DSP and base colors.  Add a different sentiment and you've got a fantastic card for any occasion!
Here's our bonus card.  I used my new toy the Scan and Cut 2 to cut the Panda.  That stamp set is in our Sale-A-Bration catalog.  I believe these are going to go FAST!  They will sell out quickly.  If you think they're cute... don't wait!

I have one card coming to show you.  I'm waiting on stamp set.  I HATE it when I lose stamp sets.  When it arrives, I'll complete the card and post it.

New Year's Resolution - Birthday Cards!

I'll admit it.  I'm a card maker 90% of my crafting time.  I make Birthday cards... and then I'm TERRIBLE about sending them!  TERRIBLE!  I mean, I put together a Birthday Card Buffet for my friend's art studio - and I'm terrible about sending out cards.

That's where the resolution comes in.  I've already set one of my storage boxes as the Birthday Card Box, and labeled the dividers by months.  I put in my address database, and the sheet I have with everyone's birthdays along with return address labels.  Next time we stop at the post office - I'll get enough stamps to get through the year.  That's called NO EXCUSES!

This is a variation on a card I saw from another demonstrator... a CASE with a twist.  I used the oval stitched die, the DSP instead of stamping the blow tickers, and some Berry Burst ribbon.
Here is the inside of the card using the same color theme from the DSP on the card front.  I made 4 of these, and they are already in the Birthday box!

Wedding!

What a wonderful surprise to find out my cousin Crystal was going to get married the last week of December.  Wonderful surprise!

I used 2 new things to make her card - the Congratulations stamp set from Stampin' Up! and my Christmas present... Brother Scan and Cut 2.

The couple are both big Packers fans, so I used green and gold for the main colors, and Chrissy is a fantastic gardener, so I had to put in a bunch of flowers.

I cut so many after stamping, I had enough for the inside of the card as well!
Congrats again to my cousin and her husband!
