A Mess of Thank You's

I received some wonderful gifts from my students this year so over my Christmas vacation I took a day to make a series of Thank You notes with some of my new "toys".  Stampin' Up! toys, as it were.

I'm so happy butterflies are back!  The stamp set offers lots of options for designs and colors. LOVE LOVE LOVE!

This first card showcases Grapefruit Grove in backing paper, punched border, and stamping as well as the gingham paper.

The Gingham paper also comes in Lemon Lime Twist.  I can't personally stand that color, so it is always gifted to my crafting friends.  I'm showcasing 4 of the 5 colors in the Gingham Gala Suite.
Here you see the card in Balmy Blue, and below is Highland Heather.
Here's the card in Daffodil Delight.
I ended up making 30 of these, and split the leftovers between home and work so I'd always have a card ready to go when I need one!

They're so pretty, and quick to make.  One NOTE:  I added the sequins after I took the pictures.  They add some sparkle.

Mail A Card Monday!

It's Monday morning!  Do you have your cards ready to go today for #mailacardMonday?

After working on this project for a week, I quickly realized I didn't have enough cards that weren't birthday cards to send out in the mail!

SO I did a #loveitchopit session and cut up the rest of my pack of the Gingham Gala paper.  I used mat size cuts 4" by 5 1/4".

I used the scraps cut off the DSP to stamp and punch out the vases.  I merged the two stamp sets to add in all the flowers.  The orchids have tiny rhinestones on the three largest, and I used the Gingham Gala sequins to add more sparkle.
Above shows the Balmy Blue Gingham, and below you can see the Grapefruit Grove Gingham paper.
The 'a little note' greeting comes from the Butterfly Gala stamp set, and the "Thinking of You" is from the Treat Time stamp set.
Here you have the Daffodil Delight Gingham, and below is the Highland Heather gingham.
I also used the strips for decorating the insides of the cards.
I got 18 cards out of the last of my Gingham paper.  Using the whole pack, you could get 40 cards!  I just used what I had left to make these 18.

Contact me, and I'll show you how easy these very pretty cards are to make!

Happy Birthday!

My dear friend Rozella's Birthday was in December (and she received this card on time).  I wanted to work with some of our new Occasions stamps for her card.

I used lots of fun things on this card.  DSP (Designer Series Paper), watercoloring, and die cuts.  My friend really loves the Melon Mambo so I stayed near that color for coordinating pieces.
The Happy Birthday die cuts come from a HUGE set of dies called Well Written from the Occasions catalog.  I've already used them a lot and you'll continue seeing them on different posts.

I had some of the banner pieces in a little baggie and thought they'd be perfect to mix with the new cake.  I watercolored the cake to match the Bermuda Bay and Melon Mambo pieces I already had, then punched them, and mounted them on top of a piece of ribbon I had left over from another project.  The sequins (yes, I used to hate them - No, I don't anymore) are from the Gingham suite.  The background is embossed with the new Lace embossing folder, and then I used a light touch with a sponge dauber to bring up the design a bit more.
