June 6th 2020 Club Cards Part 1

Here are the first 2 cards from our Card Club meeting.
They are fairly simple - The other two were much more involved and I had a purpose with these 2 very simple cards.

They are from a DSP pack called Flowers for Every Season.  The top card used one panel of each of our new In-Colors (shown in 2 previous posts).  I also cut a 4" x 5 1/4" piece of the DSP as a panel.  We compared how the DSP looked on each piece of new cardstock and found some looked better than others.  It's how color works!
This piece used some Thick Whisper White as the card base (which I rarely do), Poppy Parade as the mat and a piece of the Flowers for Every Season poinsettias as background and the cut flowers at the front.

Christmas in July - July 16, 2018

I made only two of these pretty tree cards.  It's a retired stamp set, I'm sorry to say and I wanted to play with different ink colors for the tree.
Above, you see Mossy Meadow and Shaded Spruce ink.  The Mossy Meadow seemed very dark to me, and not very pine tree-like.
This tree uses Shaded Spruce ink both stamped full strength, and then stamped off to give the lighter color.  I really LOVE this color!  So perfect for trees.

The snowflake background again came from the stamp set Christmas Pines.  A little Versamark ink and some white embossing powder, and you have snow!  Voila!

Last Christmas in July - Carols of Christmas

I first made this very simple card first while I was just playing around with the stamp set and die cuts.  It's plain.  Pretty, but very simple and very much NOT my style.
Now... I added details.  I embossed the background with the Holly folder - but I could have just as well used the Softly Falling folder to make it look like there was snow.  I cut the sentiment with the Stitched Shapes square die, and used white embossing powder on the trees with a touch of Wink of Stella.

Here's a bonus card for today!  I hadn't used the poinsettia cut outs, and wanted to play with them as well.
I hope you've enjoyed this year's Christmas in July offerings!  I'll post more Christmas Cards as December draws near and the new items from the catalog debuting on September 1st.

Christmas in July - Carols of Christmas with Peace on Earth

This card I cased from another demonstrator.  She did a fantastic job!  I'm pretty happy with my version - I will make a few changes when I demo this card.
I got out the brayer for this card.  Use Shimmer White cardstock so the color will lay nicely.  The 'trick' with the brayer is to keep working the roller in one direction without stopping.  That way it takes out some of the lines you get from the edge.  I used 4 colors on the background with some sponging to keep the colors separate.
Night of Navy, Berry Burst, Daffodil Delight, and Wild Wasabi were used from top to bottom to give it the look of twilight.

Here (below) you can see the card front builder piece I used to cut out the top.  I placed a piece of Daffodil Delight cardstock behind it, then added some Wink of Stella to make the moon and stars sparkle.
I cut out 2 of the double trees, and 3 single trees to give the 'forest' look and used dimensionals to attach them to the card for depth.
