Painted Glass - Stained Glass Thinlits

I am IN LOVE!

I first saw this stamp set at the Stampin' Up! OnStage event at the beginning of April.  Even before someone demo'd it for our group, I fell in love with it just from looking in the catalog.  I could immediately see the possibilities.

 There are many new items featured in this post!  Above you get a good look at the cardstock Lovely Lipstick.  The irises and butterflies are colored in Gorgeous Grape, and Highland Heather.

Here you can see the new cardstock color Balmy Blue, and Shaded Spruce for the leaves and butterflies.

GORGEOUS GRAPE!  WOW!  We have purple!  The flowers are colored with the Lovely Lipstick marker as a contrast on the purple.

I put these together as quickie cards to look at design.  Check back later for more embellishments and layers on similar cards.

Christmas in July - Deck the Halls

Merry Christmas in July!  Today is July 25th, just 5 months until Christmas Day.

This stamp set (Bundle) is called Carols of Christmas.  It's a preview set from the upcoming Christmas catalog.  It is available for order on August 1st.  This is the first card I made with this stamp/die bundle.
**I didn't think I'd like the set - but I LOVE it!  It is Christmas after all.

 I've seen many samples from other demonstrators, but I hadn't seen any like this, so I gave it a shot.

 Here you've got a close-up of the top of the card showing one of the framing dies. Below is the bottom view.  It's one die - line it up and run through your Big Shot twice. 

 I used my markers to make the ornaments, and the Stamp-a-ma-jig to line them up with the top sentiment. 

The small ornaments are attached with the small dimensionals.  LOVE them too!

Christmas in July - Christmas Reindeer

Today I'm using up last season's Designer Series Paper (DSP).  It was great paper, and I am at the point where I just need to use it!  SO... here goes.

I used 3 bases.  Real Red, Early Espresso, and Crumb Cake.  The reindeer were all stamped in Early Espresso ink on Crumb cake paper.  See tomorrow's post for a great way to stamp out images with the builder punches.  There's a tip.

On the Espresso backgrounds, I stamped with Versamark ink, embossed with white powder, and immediately added Dazzling Diamonds glitter.  After adding the glitter, give the whole thing a touch
of heat just to set all the powder and glitter. 

The cards area all very straight forward, and VERY cute! 

When you've had enough of one background, turn the paper over and see if that looks as good!

This turned out to be a series of a dozen cards.  I just stamped, colored, cut, and adhered all the pieces together.  Easy, quick, and super cute!

Happy Birthday Spring Wreath

I'm on my new In-Colors kick - playing with them, working out how to incorporate them with our regular color line.

I don't use this stamp set often, but I do think it's so pretty!  I also use a tip I saw on either a blog post, or video.  When you die-cut the wreath, cut the center piece first, then line up the die cut around the outside to finish cutting the wreath.  SO much easier!

The bow is also a die-cut, but the little flowers are fussy cut. 
HOW did I get the Happy Birthday lined up in the center so nicely?  EASY!  Before adding the dimensionals, lay the wreath down on the card where you want it placed.  Ink up your photo-polymer stamp, and stamp!  I did some practice stamping on my grid paper to be sure the image was inked properly.

Remove the wreath, add the dimensionals, and attach it to the card!

Tip:  Cut the dimensionals into smaller pieces while still on the backing paper.
