Special Order Cards - Birthday

I had a request of a very fancy birthday card this past week.  My directions were that this needed to be very special.  No colors, nothing else in the way of directions - off I went!

Luckily, Stampin' Up has some very fancy, frilly things out in the catalogs now (and I use an older birthday stamp as well).

Here it is again!  Another Butterfly in Blue!  I couldn't resist!

I wanted to add some Navy twine to this piece, but couldn't find it in my craft room.

Kansas City Regional 3 of 3

This set of 36 cards came together the fastest of the 3 sets I made.  I also found these on Pinterest - and they showcase two of my very favorite Stampin' colors.
Bermuda Bay, and Melon Mambo!  They look so fantastic together!  FANTASTIC!

Randomly stamp the flower image in both colors on the white cardstock - then use the black ink to add some black outlines of the flower image.  Leave space for your sentiment.  Add that last, and adhere all the pieces!
I like having both backgrounds - it makes the card look a little different.  Many times I'll make different backgrounds on cards - depending on the look I want, the backing card stock makes a big difference!

Cupcakes are Still the Rage!

Look closely at the two pictures of this card.  Paper cupcakes with 3 dimensional icing!

I also revived a stamp technique from a few years ago when doing multiple stamping on one image.  The tip:  Use the darkest color first, then stamp to the 'top' with the lightest color.  Works like a charm for lining up images!

This was my first try at this technique.  I'm going to revisit it when things calm down, and see what else I can come up with for 3D frosting on the cupcakes.  I added some Wink of Stella to give the frosting some sparkle, just like the edible glitter you can put on cupcakes.
