Galaxy!

Galaxy painting of late has been all the rage.  There are YouTube videos galore.  The best one I found was from a YouTuber I watch regularly called Maremi SmallArt.  Love her!  I like listening to her accent too.  You just can't be in a bad mood after listening to her work on a project.  I could almost come away with a background I maybe liked.

I digress.

Stampin' Up has introduced stamps that give us the Galaxy effect without watercoloring!  YAY!
 Here is my first creation.
It's SO easy!  Get out the sponge daubers, and your purples, blues, and reds.  Sponge on the color in random patterns, and stamp!

Springtime Impressions Thinlits Technique

There is a butterfly in this die set, but truthfully, I haven't gotten to it yet.  I'm so busy with this spray of flowers.

I am showing a technique today.  Really, I'm not sure what it's called - so I'll come up with a clever name.

As I was inking one of these sprays of flowers, I was finding designs on my grid paper.  Seemed to me I could use the designs and not waste the ink, thought that is only marginal.
Use a plain white (or vanilla) card base and place your white (or vanilla) die cut on top of it.  Using sponge daubers, swirl ink on top of the die cut, holding it to keep it in place.  Use many colors, or just a few depending on the result you want.
When you're finished inking, there isn't just one piece to use for creating, there are two!  You have your inked die cut, and the negative left on the white cardstock to use for another card.
Negative Inking - that's it.  That's the name.

Colors used:  Gorgeous Grape, Lovely Lipstick, Call Me Clover.

When these pieces are made into cards, I'll post them so you can see the finals.

While I prepared this post, I came up with another idea for using this technique.  Stay tuned!
Have fun!

Abstract Impressions One Sheet Wonders

I haven't made One-Sheet Wonders in a long time!  I used to make them constantly.  As you've seen recently, I really LOVE the Impressionist Suite from this catalog!

So, I started with one sheet of Whisper White, and stamped it full!
The purple flower colors are:  Highland Heather, Gorgeous Grape, and Rich Razzleberry.  The leaves are Granny Apple Green stamped off, and Pear Pizzazz.  I also added Pool Party flowers as filler.
Sentiment:  Itty Bitty Greetings
Once cut, you end up with four card fronts!
I used Around the Corner again to help make the card interior more interesting.
Sentiment: Treat Time
The Tulle ribbon has a little sparkle!

Sentiment:  Seasoned with Kindness
Sentiment:  Hand Delivered

From one 8.5 x 11 sheet of paper, I've got 4 cards, an Anniversary, Thinking of You, Happy Birthday, and a congratulations card.  Completely different occasions - one stamping.  I used the dies from Stitched Labels Framelits to add sentiments and some interest.  I also used the floral die cut on the Anniversary and congratulations cards to add more detail.

Organizer with Garden Impressions

This is not my original idea.  Not by far.  This is from a UK demo called Pootles.  I'm including a link at the bottom of this page to her video for this project.
It takes a lot of cardstock - BUT this would be a great gift!
At this point, mine is not embellished.  That will come later.  I just loved this project so much, I wanted to share it with you!
It's not that small.... about 8 inches square with lots of room to store pens, markers, tape, and whatever else you can think of.

Colored Cardstock used:  Soft Seafoam, Shaded Spruce, Calypso Coral.

Big Wishes - Birthday

Color is the word for these birthday stamps.  In the catalog they have the image stamped in black.  I made my first stamp with a solid color as well, and hated it!

I then turned the stamp over and used sponge daubers to add color.  I completed only one so far - and the next two images are waiting for their cards.  The color variations really add something to these images.
Colors used on Enjoy Today:  L to R:  Lovely Lipstick, Grapefruit Grove, Pineapple Punch, Call Me Clover, Pacific Point, Gorgeous Grape.

Colors used on this Happy Birthday:  Gorgeous Grape, Call Me Clover, and Lovely Lipstick.
