Secret Auction at School: Caffeine Addicts Basket

I've used this stamp set a bit, but really got it out to play to make this selection of cards and tags.

My school was having a silent auction to raise money for our China Club.  Every year we send students and teachers to our sister school in China in May, and in October they come to visit us.  It's always lots of fun!
I made this card to place in the basket to thank the recipient for their purchase and in helping with the event.
Everyone seemed to think they were bookmarks, and I didn't say anything different.  I meant them to be tags, but hey... whatever floats your boat!  Plus, if someone will use them often for bookmarks instead of putting them away because they were tags... all the better!
I also included this little guy I made out of scraps.  He was pretty cute!

Birthday Card Buffet for the Stud!o #7 (Bonus)

AND because I can't leave well enough alone....  a Card Buffet with six cards... I designed a 7th card.  I kept on going.  This is a favorite card.  If you know me, I've presented this card at my upline Kathy's club, and my own card club as well.  I've also taken it to a Stampin' Up! event as a swap.

It uses the stamp set Garden in Bloom, and the sentiment from Butterfly Basics.
The small butterfly is fussy cut, and popped with a small piece of dimensional.  It also has one rhinestone for a little sparkle.

Birthday Card for the Stud!o #6

I made another copy of this card and gave it to my Dad for his birthday.  His 80th birthday!

This is definitely a masculine card.  We all need them!  It's perfect for those handy guys!

I used the Happy Birthday die with the Wood Texture paper, and cut out a small piece of the logs to adhere to the front of the card.

Birthday Card for the Stud!o #5

Here we go again with the butterflies.  Yes, I do love them!  They're great additions to birthday cards.

This is a busier card that others I've showed in previous days... No more difficult, just extra steps, and more color.

I used the stamp sets Swirly Birds, and Celebrate You! for this card.  I really like that Happy Birthday sentiment.  It's a favorite.

Here you can see the butterfly is only attached to the card by its body so the wings are loose.

Birthday Card Buffet for the Stud!o #4

This is an Eclipse Card.

They've been all the rage lately, and I've got some examples of Eclipse Cards here on the blog in past posts.

This Happy Birthday comes from the Butterfly Basics, and flowers from the Wood Words stamp sets.

I've really enjoyed making these simple, but stunning cards.  Make your color choices, and use the tips Zandra will give you and options are limitless!

Birthday Card Buffet for the Stud!o #3

The stamp set used here is called Marquee Messages.  You can see all the options for this stamp set below.  When I first saw it, I loved it!  I haven't used it much, but I still LOVE it!

This card has options.  I LOVE options!  Teenage card, masculine card, make it in favorite colors for anyone's birthday!

I used Wink of Stella to add some sparkle to the accent arrow.  You could use pearls or rhinestones, even Stickles come to mind.

I've come to love sequins of late, and would add some all over this card.

Birthday Card Buffet for the Stud!o #2

This card has lots of options, and I'm showing two.  I usually keep Wild Wasabi as my choice for stems and leaves, but the tulips can be absolutely any color you'd like!
The sentiment comes from a stamp set called Beautiful You.

The tulips are two steps.  Stamp the top layer first then stamp the bottom color stamped off, or at full ink.  Each will give a different look.  When I stamp the yellow tulips, I use two yellows.  Daffodil Delight is my base color, and Crushed Curry is my top color.  I really love the contrast it gives since yellow is such a light color.
The two colors on the pinks would work well.  Use Pink Pirouette and Blushing Bride, or for a vibrant pink - Melon Mambo stamped off and used at full strength.

Birthday Card Buffet for the Stud!o #1

YES, I'm still here.  Other than the understatement that this year at work has been more than difficult...  I've been quite recalcitrant in putting up my card creations here.  I know... Terrible.

My dear friend Zandra runs an art studio just north of here in Bartlesville, and she has a Birthday Card Buffet available for people to come in and create their own birthday cards!
Here is the first in a series of 7 cards I created for her Birthday Card Buffet.
Options.  Let's talk options.  Color?  Of course!  Use any color you like for this card.  The first example above doesn't have any rhinestones.  Do you want to use pearls?  Stickles?  Use your imagination!
I was not sure of the skill level of her customers, so I used a variety of techniques.  This is called a 10 cards in 10 minutes level card.  It uses one stamp set Butterfly Basics for the main stamping, and a Happy Birthday sentiment from another set.
The raised butterfly is one of my very favorite techniques - and so easy with impressive results!  I added a few small rhinestones to the body.  In another series card, I've placed rhinestones as I usually do with the largest at the top of the butterfly, to the smallest at the bottom.
